INTRO

I was born in Europe (Holland) and moved around the world together with my husband. We started in Holland and relocated to the USA (AZ and CT), Asia (Taiwan) and currently live in the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix Arizona.

 

Having the time of our life overseas is largely a matter of having a positive mental outlook, especially when things get challenging. Living abroad offers so many opportunities to learn, travel, grow, experience the world and become part of a truly global community of people.
 

TASTE CHANGING

A curious thing happened once we relocated to Taiwan, Asia. The local design sense and healthy lifestyle started to influence my choices and life. I loved exploring new places and always kept an open mind and preferences, taste, style and a healthy creative lifestyle kept evolving. 

BACK IN THE WESTERN WORLD - S.A.D.
After living in beautiful Taipei, Taiwan for 3 years my husband and I decided to move back home to the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix Arizona. Adjusting and reintegrating again in the Western World opened our eyes even more how incredibly unhealthy the modern day habits are.

WHAT IS S.A.D.?
Standard American Diet

  • 63% of America’s calories come from refined and processed foods (e.g. soft drinks, packaged snacks like potato chips, packaged desserts, etc.)

  • 25% of America’s calories come from animal-based foods

  • 12% of America’s calories come from plant-based foods

Unfortunately, half of the plant-based calories (6%) come from french fries. That means only 6% of America’s calories are coming from health-promoting fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds.

BREAKING OUT OF ROUTINE

I feel embarrassed I got sucked into this bad habit lifestyle after moving back to the Western World and it did not feel good at all! I decided to educate myself and learn how to live a healthy life in America and break out of my routine. I read and read and watched documentaries and after a while I decided I was ready to go focus more on a Plant Based lifestyle and turn this ship around. I can honestly tell you I feel sooooo much better! I have more energy, I lost weight, lowered my cholesteroland save the planet! 

 

PLANT POWERED

My new lifestyle is definitely a journey and I would love to invite you to follow me and maybe start your own healthy lifestyle adventure and spread the word about the whole-food, plant-based diet, which is the only diet that has been scientifically shown to prevent and reverse diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
